Intel Slashes Chip Prices, Adds Two New Procs

Intel has dropped their prices on a number of processors, some as much as 20%. They've also added two new processors, the Q8400 and Q8400S.

The Q8400 and Q8400S are both 2.66GHz parts with 1333 MHz FSB and 4MB of L2 cache. The only difference between the two chips is their TDP with the Q8400S having a 65W TDP and the non-"S" chip having a 95W TDP.

 

Intel made the biggest drops with the Q9300, Q9550S, Q9400S, and Q8200S desktop chips. Also included in the price cut were three server and three mobile processors.
