OCZ Releases MiniPCI-Express SSD

OCZ has added another option to their long list of flash-based storage options, the OCZ miniPCI-E SSD.

 

OCZ Releases MiniPCI-Express SSD

 

The new drive new SSD is available in both PATA and SATA interfaces and comes in 16GB and 32GB sizes. The SATA version will deliver a fast 110MB/s read, 51MB/s write speed, and a sustained write of up to up to 25MB/s. The PATA version offers a maximum 45MB/s read and 35MB/s write speeds with ststained write speeds up to 20 MB/s.

 

OCZ is touting these as excelling options for ultra-portable platforms and while they don't say it specifically, it would fit in quite well with their DIY Neutrino netbook. OCZ is backing the drives with a two year warranty.

"With the addition of the Mini PCI-Express series to our SSD line-up, OCZ is enabling those owners of compatible UMPC and Netbook solutions to experience the quieter, cooler, and more durable alternative to traditional notebook hard drives."
