ATi Radeon HD4890 Eval Leaked a Day Early

By: (more) | Video Cards News | Posted: Apr 1, 2009 4:48 pm

The first review of the HD4890 has been published a day early. This NDA breaking site, gamestare.de, has done a pretty good job of testing out the new GPU.

It seems that this Super Clocked 4870 which ATi has put out and pretty much go head to head with the GTX285. In some games it even pulls out in front.

It will be interesting to see what happens when the GTX275 reviews hit tomorrow. There is already talk that the GTX275s being sent out might not be the same as the consumer version.

No matter it looks like the HD4890 might be a great card to hold ATi over until they can get their 40nm GPUs out of the door.

The new GTX 275 should somewhere groups in the middle between GTX 285 and GTX 260 216. However, not each HD 4890 is with 1.0 GHz chip clock indefinitely stable. We at least experienced any crashes or artifacts - nor in the stability test of Furmark .
