NVIDIA Redesigning GTX 295

By: (more) | Posted: Mar 27, 2009 3:07 am

Expreview caught wind of a major design change in the works on the dualb PCB GTX 295.

Apparently NVIDIA is moving to a single PCB design for the card meaning that both G200 chips will now be on a single board. This requires a lot of work on NVIDIA's part as the whole layout and design of the board has to be rearranged.

Nvidia is apparently leaving the length of the board as well as clock speeds the same. As a result of all of the, consumers should end up with a card that costs less, as the manufacturing costs of the card should be reduced quite a bit.

It is expected that NVIDIA will be done with engineering samples of the new GTX 295 by the end of April and that availability will be sometime in May.
