Asustek To Reorganize...Again

By: (more) | Posted: Mar 13, 2009 6:58 am

Hard times are hitting everyone, some worse than others. For the second time this year, Asustek is planning on reorganizing to further streamline its operations reports Inquirer.

Back in January the company said it was cutting the number of its departments in half, down to six. Speculators say that the company might again cut things in half, thus laying off 5%-10% of staff.

The company says that nothing has been set in stone yet so nobody knows when the pink slips will start flying.

No concrete plans or specific timeframe have been finalized, including the possibility of layoffs, said the official, speaking on condition that his name not be used because he was not authorized to speak to the media on the company's behalf.

"Nothing has been officially announced yet, we're still in the process of planning but the current framework is to further cut our business into fewer departments," he said.
