Ultra Durable 3 to make its way to GPUs

By: (more) | Posted: Mar 10, 2009 3:27 pm

GIGABYTE is enlarging the popular UltraDurable 3 to cover their GPUs now.

It looks like they are going to add in the technology that has given their recent mainboards such a boost in the overclocking world.

Now you will be able to get the same PCB, Solid 50k hour Japanese capacitors, Ferrite Core Chokes, and low RDS(on) MOSFETs on your GIGBYTE GPU of choice.

They will also be stuffing Tier-One Samsung and Hynix memory under the heatsink. The first cards to benefit from this will be the renamed G92B that nVidia is calling the GTS250.

GIGABYTE predicts that they can save 10-30% in power and reduce temps by up to 10%.

Ultra Durable 3 to make its way to GPUs

Ultra Durable VGA will offer PCBs with 2 ounces of copper, tier one Samsung and Hynix memory, Japanese solid capacitors, Ferrite core chokes and low RDS(on) MOSFET.

This should result in GPU temperatures that are 5-10 percent lower, 10-30 percent better overclocking capabilities and 10-30 percent less power switching loss.

Judging by the numbers alone, it looks impressive, but we'll still reserve our judgment until we see these cards in action.
