Pioneer has released the BDR-204BK Blu-Ray burner. The new drive is capable of writing both single and dual layer BD-R's at 8X speeds.

The new drives runs on SATA and will have a 4MB buffer. BD-RE speeds are still at 2X, 16X/8X for DVDR/R-W discs, and 32X/24X for CD-R/RW disks.

The BDR-204BK will also feature technologies including Ultra DRA, Limited Equalizer LSI, Multi-Effect Liquid Crystal Tilt Compensator, and is bundled with Cyberlink Blu-Ray Disc Suite 6.

The drive is available in Europe and will cost 250 Euro.
