TigerPoint is really the ICH7

We told you yesterday that the IGP (Integrated Graphics Processor) in the new PineView Atom is not much more than a 45nm version of the i945GSE complete with DX9 limitations.

 

Well it seems that the TigerPoint chipset that is going to compliment it is not much more than an ICH7. This is sort of disappointing from Intel and will certainly allow nVidia's ION to take a much more prominent place in the netbook market.

 

Here I thought nVidia was big on re-branding.
