Intel cancels IDF Taiwan this year

With the global economic slowdown something even the biggest of companies have no control over, Intel has decided to cancel one of its IDF (Intel Developer Forum) events this year; the one slated for November in Taiwan. IDF Taiwan has been hosted by Intel every year and the move to drop it this year comes as a surprise to many Taiwanese PC and motherboard makers.

Further to this decision, Intel has also chosen to shorten the IDF Beijing 2009 event from two days into just one in April.

 

On the upside, IDF San Francisco in September will continue to be treated as Intel's flagship conference and will be as big this year as it always has been, if not more so.
