Leaked slide on upcoming 8-core Xeons
We recently brought news of Intel's upcoming Nehalem EX series processors which carry eight cores and nestle into Intel's top-end Enterprise level Xeon market.
Hexus has now gotten hold of a slide with some official details of these processors and we can confirm that they will be an 8-core 16-thread arrangement with some 2.3 billion transistors. With quad socket server boards coming out for these processors, this would (at least in theory) make for a platform capable of harnessing up to 64 processing threads.

Further information about these Nehalem EX processors should come out on Monday when the ISSCC event begins.
