NVIDIA expected to move to 40nm in April
Comment | Print | Email to a Friend | Font Size: AAAlong with ATI, NVIDIA is also looking to shift down to 40nm in the near future, first incorporating the more efficient package into an entry-level part codenamed GT218.
Hardware-infos has acquired a bit of info about the chip which will be the GeForce 9300 series (G98) successor. It is said to have 32 stream processors, 8 texture memory units and 4 raster operations pipelines. The memory bus will stay at 64-bit whilst the TDP rating drops down from around 30W on the G98 to 22W for the new 40nm part.
GT218 powered cards are expected to arrive sometime in April.
