Foxconn Blood Rage "GTI Edition" spotted

By: (more) | Posted: Jan 27, 2009 3:48 am

There's no denying Foxconn's Quantum Force series Blood Rage X58 motherboard is a beautifully presented feature-packed offering for the Core i7 platform and has a lot going for it. Now it looks like Foxconn have another Blood Rage variant on the horizon; the Bloodrage GTI Edition.

For the most part it's just like the original Blood Rage, but this one is said to be a cut-down version with a few features pulled. We don't have confirmation of what the changes are, but it's probable that SAS support has been removed and the interchangeable northbridge block dissapears in favour of a cheaper standard heatsink arrangement.

We're not yet sure when to expect the GTI Edition to hit stores, nor at which price point. But given Foxconn still hasn't shipped its fully-fledged Blood Rage to stores in any sort of reasonable quantity, availability is anyone's guess. We'll keep you posted if and when we hear more.
