While netbooks sporting a VIA Nano processor are still proving to be somewhat difficult to find at the retail/e-tail end, VIA has now shifted focus to its next gen Nano range which are confirmed to be dual-core versions.

It was revealed at Embedded Technology'08 that VIA is already working on these upcoming mobile wonder chips which are expected to not only bring more power to the plate with their dual-core design, but will feature additional performance enhancements along with the move down to 45nm for better efficiency. Furthermore, these dual core derivatives will retain compatibility for existing Nano platforms.

It's been said these dual-core Nanos will shape up by the end of next year, with mass production to commence towards the middle of 2010.
