AMD's 45nm Quad Core 'Shanghai' CPUs are expected to launch later this week, according to this report from Fudzilla.

It is believed that AMD shall play on the price to performance ratio of its offerings by utilising competitive pricing, to counteract Intel on this front. It is additionally claimed, that Shanghai CPUs should be more power efficient than Nehalem and this could provide another opening for AMD to exploit.
