GlacialTech to capture retail attention with UFO

By: (more) | Posted: Nov 7, 2008 12:36 am

CPU cooling specialist GlacialTech aren't a big name in the retail market, not because they don't know how to produce good products, but because they have (until recently) kept their focus on the OEM business, supplying the bundled CPU coolers we receive when buying an Intel processor.

However, it looks like they're making a bold move to branch out into the branded retail market. And they seem to be doing everything they can to get noticed right off the bat. This new "UFO" CPU cooler from the company, spotted over at Expreview is certainly an out there design and screams "I like attention".

As for specs, it utilizes two 92mm PWM fans, two 8mm and two 6mm heat-pipes situated on a massive heatsink with copper base.

Socket support is great; Glacialtech has covered all bases by not only including support for LGA775, 754, 939, 940, AM2 and F, but also for the new LGA 1366 (Core i7) platform.

We're not yet sure of when the UFO CPU cooler is intended to be released, nor its pricing. I'm sure we'll be hearing from GlacialTech once they decide to let it fly.
