NVIDIA launches GeForce 9300 / 9400 mobo chipsets

Reviews are already in of the new boards

| CPUs, Chipsets & SoCs News | Posted: Oct 16, 2008 12:47 am

NVIDIA's much delayed MCP7A or GeForce MCP 9300 and 9400 series of motherboard chipsets as it is officially known as now has just been released onto the market.

Designed mostly for small systems and HTPC based micro-ATX boards, both are to go up against AMD's 780G and 790GX chipset as well as Intel's G45 and NVIDIA's own GeForce 8300 chipset.

Boards based on these two new chips support Socket 775 Intel processors and include features such as CUDA, Hybrid SLI, PhysX and PureVideo HD. It will be very interesting to find out if these new chips are actually (and properly) able to output Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD as bit stream over the included HDMI port on supported motherboards. Do write in if you know anything about it.
