GIGABYTEs EX58-Extreme for Core i7 all geared up

By: (more) | Posted: Oct 2, 2008 10:21 am

We were lucky enough to get a first look on GIGABYTEs upcoming EX58-Extreme motherboard not long ago, with very little left to do to it. But one thing the giant motherboard maker still hadn't finished at the time was the type of cooling system used for the board.

Thanks to a chap over at the XtremeSystems forums, we now get a look at the 99% complete sample with all its bells and whistles attached.

As you can see, it's quite the extreme cooling solution and sits very nicely on the Extreme branded EX58 board. The X58 chip has a waterblock sitting over it along with some large heatpipes running to other heatsinks situated in all the right places.

But the real eye catcher is the massive detechable module which should significantly improve the boards ability to push the heat out the rear of the case.

Mmmmm, Nehalem. I can't wait! - You can view the rest of the shots on this amazing looking board here.
