Intel roadmap gets an airing

By: (more) | Posted: Sep 17, 2008 8:35 pm

It's that time of the month again when roadmaps let slip.

Today, Expreview has unleashed an Intel roadmap which confirms the branding of upcoming Core i7 SKUs.

Intel roadmap gets an airing

The ever so original sounding Core i7 920 and 940, will be the official monikers for the Bloomfield 2.66 and 2.93 GHz flavours, respectively. Following on, Core i7 965 will be the branding graced upon the 3.2 GHz Extreme Edition part.

With Havendale appearing to have shifted out of the 2009 timeframe, it appears possible that we may see one or two further Core 2 Duo iterations coming from the Intel stable, as this report from Fudzilla surmises.

On the Core 2 Quad side of the equation, we see mention of the Q8300 part scheduled to make an appearance in early 2009 and which, if plans hold true, may be the last of Core 2's quad offerings.
