NVIDIA isn't planning to rename its GTX 260 parts, despite the planned increase in the number of Shader Processors - From 192, to 216.

This article from Expreview, also interestingly claims that the new GTX 260 part, featuring 216 Shader Processors, will perform roughly 5 to 10% faster than current versions in, for example, 3DMark Vantage.

 

Three tips on distinguishing the refined GTX 260 offerings from current parts are also offered, including the performance aspirations listed above, amongst other things.

 

September 16th is a date being thrown around and it is rumoured, that new GTX 260 parts shall be available from that stage, featuring extra Shader Processor magic of course.
