Sony Announce New High End STR-DA5400 Amplifier

One of the best consumer receivers just got better

Sony Consumer Electronics have announced via Engadget, the replacement for last years flagship consumer receiver/ amplifier the STR-DA5300.

The new model boasts a massive 6 HDMI ports, 2 HDMI outputs, three component inputs and features the well renowned Faroudja upscaling chip, for analogue devices. Like the previous model, this will have a powerful 120 watts per channel, and can easily decode next generation audio codecs such as Dolby TrueHD, DTS HD Master Audio, and uncompressed PCM audio.

 

The model will soon be available in the US and will be released to the Australian market at the end of September, for $3,499 AUD SRP.
