NVIDIA is relying on its GeForce 9600GSO SKU, powered by the old faithful G92 GPU, to counteract AMD's upcoming RV730 fuelled HD 4670, according to a report from Fudzilla.

The GeForce 9600GSO joins a line of NVIDIA SKUs powered by the Santa Clara, CA based company's 65nm G92 GPU and, it is claimed that a price cut will be the order of the day in making the 9600GS0 competitive, from a pricing point of view, against AMD's eagerly anticipated flagship RV730 offering.

It is surmised that AMD, clearly, has the advantage from a technical vantage point and will almost certainly offer its HD 46xx family at an attractive price-point to encourage adoption.
