Battlegrounds received a new game mode in the last few days, with developer PUBG Corp teasing the new deathmatch-style War Mode in the test servers.

PUBG's new 'War Mode' acts more like a deathmatch round

War Mode sees squads of people landing on a small zone on the map with a bunch of weapons as they land, with teh sole purpose of this mode is killing everyone, and that's it. PUBG gamers will need to rack up points before other squads of enemies do, through killing, knocking someone down, or reviving a team mate.

Twitch streamers, YouTubers and the dev team are the only ones that can create custom PUBG games, which is where War Mode is an exclusive. War Mode itself is still in "a very early stage of development", so it's in early testing for now.

The new expansion will be raising the max level cap from a current 110 to 120, it will also be new continents such as Kul Tiras and Zandalar. Battle for Azeroth will also be adding more dungeons/raids, warfronts and three new races for both the Alliance and the Horde.

CEO and Co-founder of Blizzard Entertainment commented on the new expansion and said: "In Battle for Azeroth, the stakes for the Alliance and the Horde are incredibly high, and a player's faction will have a more meaningful impact on their experience than in any World of Warcraft expansion to date. Farmer plays farming game to get away from his farming life

Anthony Garreffa | Gaming | Apr 6, 2018 11:59 PM CDT

If there was a job within a job that you wouldn't expect to see on Reddit, it would be a farmer playing a farming game while... farming. This is exactly what 'ZoMgPwNaGe' on Reddit posted to the /r/StardewValley subreddit, which propelled it up the ranks of Reddit with a huge 3830 upvotes at the time of writing.

Farmer plays farming game to get away from his farming life

ZoMgPwNaGe, otherwise known as Tim, has the top comment on his post saying: "Wow great. You have one of the most important jobs in our society! Thank you very much!". Tim replied saying "Thank you, that's a refreshing opinion of us to hear :)", and then 'icebiker' said: "Is that not a common opinion? I love vegetable farmers - I thought everyone did? I'm Canadian though, maybe it's different here?".

That's where the more personal reply comes in, with Tim saying: "A lot of people seem to think farmers are corporate drones who are out to poison them with as many chemicals Bayer and Monsanto will let us have, which is false. Our farm has a total of 1 employee, the rest of the work is done by myself and my dad. Our partners have a total of 3 employees. Between us we have nearly 2k acres of ground. We're very much not corporate. And we use the least amount of chemicals and pesticide possible, because it's our money we're spending".

Fortnite is so addictive, people are trying to get it BANNED

Anthony Garreffa | Gaming | Apr 6, 2018 11:20 PM CDT

Epic Games knows it has a hit on its hands when Fortnite has addicted students in class forcing their teacher to troll them, and now affected families and partners want the game banned because it as "brainwashed" their loved ones.

Fortnite is so addictive, people are trying to get it BANNED

There is a petition on Change.org that is simply called "Get rid of Fortnite", where anyone who signs it wishes for the game to be banned so their loved ones have time spared up to spend with them instead of battling gamers in Fortnite. The petition has 750 signatures at the time of writing.

Fortnite won't be banned, no matter the petition, as the petition itself was "made as a joke" with the person who started the petition saying they "started playing it" and said that "it's actually fun". The person continued, saying: "But i see how the game can take away from family time and It is a problem in that sense and i see how mothers get annoyed".

ASUS AREZ: Radeon loses ROG branding because of NVIDIA GPP?

Anthony Garreffa | Video Cards & GPUs | Apr 6, 2018 10:36 PM CDT

It looks like ASUS is preparing a new brand of graphics cards, completely separate to their gaming-focused Republic of Gamers (ROG) brand, exclusive for AMD and their Radeon family of cards.

ASUS AREZ: Radeon loses ROG branding because of NVIDIA GPP?

VideoCardz reports that ASUS is preparing a new AREZ brand for Radeon graphics cards, where they might not even be branded as ASUS at all. There will not be an AREZ ROG STRIX graphics card, it would simply be AREZ STRIX, we should also see other sub series including the AREZ branding including Phoenix and Expedition.

It's an interesting move, but if NVIDIA is forging ahead with its GeForce Partner Program, I'm sure one of their biggest AIBs (ASUS) would want to stay in NVIDIA's good graces and continue pumping out GeForce GTX series graphics cards under its strong ROG brand.

Samsung rides Q1 2018: memory biz is booming, profits soar

Anthony Garreffa | Business, Financial & Legal | Apr 6, 2018 9:59 PM CDT

Samsung has had a massive first three months of 2018, with a huge 58% increase in profit and demand for its memory chips through the roof, more than enough to offset Apple's reduced requirement of displays for iPhone X.

Samsung rides Q1 2018: memory biz is booming, profits soar

Bloomberg is reporting that Samsung's operating income reached $14.7 billion in Q1 2018, compared to $13.5 billion that analysts expected Samsung to report. Samsung sold through a huge $56.4 billion in Q1 2018, with these sales including the new Galaxy S9 and the near unlimited want for memory across the world with ASIC miners and graphics cards.

Samsung became the world's largest chipmaker by sales late last year, besting Intel, but memory is where Samsung is making its strides lately. Lee Jay-yun, an analyst with Yuanta Securities Co. explains: "Memory chips are the loyal son of Samsung. Still, momentum may slow toward the end of this year with price rises likely to be less steep than last year".
