Diablo 4 reveal may happen in 2019

Instead of revealing Diablo 4 at Blizzcon 2018, the studio announced a mobile game aimed at maximum exposure and microtransactions. Diablo Immortal isn't the game anyone wanted, especially since we know Diablo 4 is in development. Gamers want to know more about Diablo 4 and these other mysterious projects and now Blizzard's community manager gives a nebulous 2019 info window.

"We continue to read feedback and our internal discussions are ongoing. We have many plans for Diablo across multiple projects which we'll be revealing over the course of the coming year," said Blizzard community manager Nevalistis.

Microsoft bought new studios to bolster Game Pass lineup

Microsoft's newly bought AA game studios will release their games onto Game Pass, similar to AAA devs.

Microsoft bought new studios to bolster Game Pass lineup

In a bid to fill out its flagging first-party slate, Microsoft recently bought a slew of renowned games-makers like Ninja Theory, Undead Labs Compulsion Games, Playground Games, Obsidian Entertainment, and inXile. These purchases were tactical and have a two-fold goal, though: to release new games on Xbox LIVE and in stores as well as significantly bolster its popular $10 a month Xbox Game Pass subscription service.

It's important to note that the mix of acquired studios are considered AA and AAA (Ninja Theory and Obsidian are AA, whereas Playground Games are AAA) and will games for Microsoft accordingly. This poses an interesting spectrum of content that'll soon be doled out on Game Pass: first we'll have indies, then AA experiences like Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice, and then bigger projects like Playground's new RPG (probably a new Fable).

As more and more gamers jump into the battle royale craze, Fortnite's incredible wide-sweeping popularity comes at a human cost.

Fortnite is 'like heroin,' says addiction specialist

Epic Games makes billions from Fortnite. The game is a monstrous success in microtransaction revenues, engagement, and overall exposure, but players are paying more than money or time for the experience. Some are developing addictions that are increasingly hard to shake--and it's not just adults. According to a Bloomberg report, experts warn that Fortnite addiction is running rampant and is interrupting people's jobs, relationships, draining bank accounts, and may be setting kids up for lifelong battles with interactive-based behavioral disease.

"This game is like heroin. Once you are hooked, it's hard to get unhooked," addiction behavioral specialist Lorraine Marer told Bloomberg.

Darksiders III FOV slider mod available to download

Jak Connor | Gaming | Nov 30, 2018 4:00 AM CST

Now that Gunfire Games' Darksiders III has released, we are hearing along the grapevine that the title is suffering from some pretty serious camera issues. To assist those that are struggling with this issue a mod has been created and is available to download.

Darksiders III FOV slider mod available to download

Darksiders III released a few days ago and some gamers that have picked up the title have reported that they are having camera issues while trying to enjoy their newly purchased game. Unfortuantely, Gunfire Games has not provided gamers with an FOV slider, so these camera issues cannot be fixed natively inside the setting on PC. Players that want to add a custom FOV slider will have to download this mod here.

The mod has been created by susahamat and according to DSOgaming the file is completely safe to download and does not contain any viruses. DSOGaming also reports that the mod works as intended and the FOV can be changed by pressing the "]" and the "[" key. Gunfire Games are currently working on the first patch for Darksiders III, it hasn't been confirmed that the coming patch will contain camera fixes but we can only hope so. Want more news on Darksiders III? Check out the concept art and wallpaers that were released a few days ago, more on that here. There also has been trailers released featuring main character Fury, check those out here and here.

3DMark's new Ray Tracing benchmark to be teased December 8

Anthony Garreffa | Video Cards & GPUs | Nov 29, 2018 9:44 PM CST

If you own one of NVIDIA's new GeForce RTX graphics cards there's not much you can do with it with real-time ray tracing right now apart from Battlefield V (if you can even get it to work with RTX that is), but that'll soon change with 3DMark's new ray tracing benchmark.

3DMark's new Ray Tracing benchmark to be teased December 8

The new 3DMark Real-Time Ray Tracing Benchmark Port Royal will be teased ahead of its January 2019 launch at the GALAX GOC Grand Final overcloccking event in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam on December 8. What makes this special is that UL Benchmarks will be the first to market with a dedicated real-time ray tracing benchmark for gamers, where they can (get this) test real-time ray tracing performance of any graphics card that supports Microsoft's DirectX Raytracing standard, DXR.

UL Benchmarks explains: "Real-time ray tracing promises to bring new levels of realism to in-game graphics. Port Royal uses DirectX Raytracing to enhance reflections, shadows, and other effects that are difficult to achieve with traditional rendering techniques. As well as benchmarking performance, 3DMark Port Royal is a realistic and practical example of what to expect from ray tracing in upcoming games-ray tracing effects running in real-time at reasonable frame rates at 2560 x 1440 resolution".
