Fallout New Vegas

When Obsidian took the reins from Bethesda for the latest iteration in the Fallout series, it was unknown as to whether they could pull it off. Well, doubt no more as New Vegas is as good as Fallout 3, and in some ways even better.

Fallout New Vegas is our pick for the guide this year in PC gaming for a number of reasons. First of all, the game is massive. While the campaign can be completed in around fifteen or so hours, there are so many side quests and areas to explore that you could easily put three to four hundred hours into the game if you really wanted to.

A key point to this game is the replay value. There are so many different ways to play this game and customise your character that to see it all you really need to go through the game multiple times.

Obsidian is also promising downloadable content which has already been announced for Xbox 360, but we imagine it will make it to the PC at some point. Even if not, the modding community is very active for this game. The only down point is that the game does need a fairly good hardware spec in the system to run properly, so ensure this is the case before handing over your hard earned.

Big, full of variety and easy to get into, Fallout New Vegas is our choice by far!
