Budget gaming monitor selection, BenQ GW2283 or LG 22mk430h?

Question by Lee from Malaysia | Answered by Tyler Bernath | Displays & Projectors | Oct 12, 2019 11:21 PM CDT

Hi,

I'm looking for a gaming monitor under the price of $85 and have found two which I think are good but I'm unsure how to compare.

The first model is the BenQ GW2283 and the second model is the LG 22mk430h. Please do help me with this I usually play competitive games like Rainbow Six Siege and been wanting to look for one that's good. Note - I'm using a gaming laptop right now to play games (ROG GL503GE)

Having trouble getting four DDR4 DIMMs running in XMP on X570

Question by Etutam from Spain | Answered by Tyler Bernath | RAM | Oct 8, 2019 11:07 PM CDT

I just bought the new X570 Aorus Elite mobo with Ryzen 2700. I had 2 kits of RAM 2x4GB 3200Mhz and others 2x4GB 3200Mhz, both are Corsair Vengeance LPX but bought them separately. If I enable profile XMP in BIOS I get random blue screens. I put timings manually (16-18-18-18-54) and voltage is set to 1.35. Still having same problems, or games random crash too. I would like to get any tip to get them more stable, or should I buy new kits?

Can I upgrade my ASUS PC with more RAM and GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER?

Question by Nathan from United States | Answered by Tyler Bernath | Video Cards & GPUs | Sep 28, 2019 2:30 PM CDT

Hi,

I have a G20CB prebuilt from ASUS and i've been wanting to see what I can do to upgrade it. I'm looking at changing out the GPU and RAM as I currently have a single stick of memory that's 16GB and a GTX 1080. I would like to upgrade the memory to at least 16GB dual channel and possibly the GeForce 2080 Super so I can hit 60FPS consistently at 1440p. Is my PC compatible with a 2080 Super and if so, do I have to buy an ASUS GPU? Also, what kind of RAM is compatible with my system?

Thanks!

Should I go with the AMD Ryzen 3700X or 2700X? Is it worth the price?

Question by Dean from United States | Answered by Tyler Bernath | CPUs, Chipsets & SoCs | Sep 25, 2019 12:54 AM CDT

Hello,

I'm building a new machine and decided on the AMD Ryzen 3700X. However, I just looked and the 2700X is now $240 vs. the 3700X at $330.

I know the 2700X is enough for my computing needs however I wonder if getting the 3700X will set me up better for the future since I do some video editing work. Is it worth it with the almost $100 price difference?

Why isn't my new secondary drive SSD being detected in Windows 10?

Question by John from United States | Answered by Tyler Bernath | Storage | Sep 16, 2019 1:22 PM CDT

Last week I built my first PC with a GIGABYTE X570 Aorus motherboard. I was able to get the machine to boot and install Windows 10 on my Corsair MP600 along with all the drivers available, but I still have an issue; my Crucial MX500 SSD isn't being detected, it does show in BIOS though.

What am I missing?

Should I fix my streaming PC's USB issues or upgrade to something new?

Question by Joakim from Sweden | Answered by Tyler Bernath | Computer Systems | Sep 4, 2019 12:11 PM CDT

Hi!

I'm a streamer that currently uses my old build as a dedicated streaming PC. However, my gaming PC starts messing up every once in a while, with USB ports and slow load times so i think i need to replace my motherboard on that.

What would be the best decision for me? Is it worth keeping my CPU or should i upgrade that too? If i build a high-end Ryzen system, would i be able to get rid of my streaming PC, and keep the quality streams? Is it worth upgrading my GPU or should i wait for the next generation?

  • Gaming PC: ASUS Z270 Strix i7 7700K oc'd to 5.0GHz GTX 1080 Strix OC 32GB Vengeance DDR4
  • Streaming PC: Z97 Pro Gamer i7 4770 GTX 970 16GB DDR3

Thanks in advance!
