There is no denying that Far Cry is currently one of the most graphic intensive games on the market, utilizing PS2.0 technology (the latest versions support Shader Model 3.0 with DX9c) and offering an exceptional visual experience there is no denying that even some of the faster graphics cards struggle.

 

RADEON X550

 

 

Since Far Cry has been so CPU limited it's only the latest two releases that see any improvement as ATI began to optimize for the beloved dual core processors.

 

RADEON X700

 

 

The same picture as the X550 but the performance increase seen for the X700PRO at the lower resolution is a lot greater here thanks to the extra power on offer from the X700PRO.

 

RADEON X850XT

 

 

We again have the same results as the previous two cards but slightly more extreme thanks to the even greater power offered by the X850XT.
