nVidia ForceWare 81.84 BETA Performance Analysis - Benchmarks - High Quality AA and AF

A couple of days ago nVidia released their much talked about ForceWare Release 80 graphics card driver to the world. The new nVidia ForceWare 81.84 BETA drivers offer such things as performance optimizations when using Dual-Core processors, mixed vendor support for SLI and Black and White 2 support. We examine the drivers in our typical fashion against the last official release driver, ForceWare 78.01. Do the new drivers give some more punch to nVidia's current line-up of GPU's? Read on for the answers!

High Quality AA and AF

In our High Quality tests we bump the Antialiasing (AA) and Anisotropic Filtering (AF) up causing the card(s) to be put under more load.

This usually helps us remove the CPU limitation. We use 4 x AA and 8 x AF as this is quite a common setup for most people who are venturing into the AA and AF area.

Performance with AA and AF seems to be very similar between the old drivers and the new one except with the 7800GTX in SLI which sees a slight performance increase.

We again see that only the GTX in SLI gains benefits in the new driver when it comes to high quality tests. This is excellent news to SLI 7800GTX users.
