SUMMARY: GIGABYTE Australia was kind enough to let us inside their Melbourne service center to take a close look at their operation and just exactly what goes on inside. Armed with digital camera, we visited their office last week and will show you in pictorial form just what is involved in repairing a motherboard from start to finish.

We thought that we had a lot of spare parts lying around our labs, GIGABYTE put us to shame. Since GIGABYTE has machines here in Australia to remove and add new chips to motherboards and so on - they have thousands of spare chips on hand for when they are required.
Northbridge and Southbridge chipsets for motherboards must be stored in a controlled environment which you can see in the photos above. All the chipsets are stored in a container which was temperature controlled to 21c. Every chipset you could imagine was in stock at the time from every chipset maker.
GIGABYTE not only stock chipsets but just about any other component you could possibly think of which may need replacing. We didnt expect GIGABYTE to have so many spare parts here in Australia but it just goes to show how serious this company is about service in the land Down Under its serious business and not just a 2-bit operation, we can say that for sure.
