DDR-2 PC-5400 Performance Memory Shootout - OCZ vs. Corsair vs. Kingston - Benchmarks - SiSoft Sandra 2004

In our latest article we are comparing the performance of some of the top brands in DDR-2 memory modules. We've got modules on the test bench from OCZ (PC-5400 Performance series), Corsair (XMS2 Pro series) and Kingston (HyperX series). After taking a close look at each set of Dual Channel modules, we tested them at their default speeds and as far as we could overclock them.

SiSoft Sandra (System ANalyser, Diagnostic and Reporting Assistant) is a synthetic Windows benchmark that features different tests used to evaluate different PC subsystems.

When at default speeds the Corsair memory easily takes the win under Sandra Memory Bandwidth testing. Only when the memory is buffered (optimizations enabled) and overclocked is the OCZ memory able to take a lead.
