ATI Catalyst 5.2 Performance Analysis

Author: Shane Baxtor SUMMARY: Recently ATI released a new set of their monthly Catalyst drivers for their Radeon line of graphics cards. The new version is 5.2 and they promise a whole bunch of bug fixes and performance increases. We examine the new drivers in our usual array of benchmarks and come up with an answer if they are worth the upgrade or not. Radeon users read on!

The setup and benchmarks are exactly the same as our last Catalyst Driver Preview so we won’t delay any longer and get straight into looking at the performance we get from these new drivers as ATI have promised us some increases on the X700PRO and above.

At the lower resolution we don’t see any difference yet at the higher resolution we see a little jump giving us an extra few hundred points.
