ATI Catalyst 4.12 Performance Analysis - Benchmarks - High Quality AA and AF

Today we see the release of another ATI Catalyst driver suite (in fact the last release for 2004) and we will be seeing just how they compare against the previous 4.11 drivers. We will be comparing these drivers with our normal array of benchmarks except we have had a few new additions to our benchmark line including Half Life 2 and Doom 3. High Quality AA and AF

 

We decided to test using high quality 6x AA and 8x AF to see if the new drivers offer an increase in performance in this area.

 

 

Here we can see that the difference is an extremely low 9 marks again which is well and truly in that fluctuation point.

 

 

With AA and AF on we see that Doom 3 is a tiny bit faster here.

 

 

It was interesting to find that once we turned on AA and AF there was no difference in Half Life 2 performance.
