Quake 3 Arena

Quake III Arena is a real-world OpenGL benchmark that we have been using here at TweakTown for quite a while now because it has proven itself to be one of the best gaming benchmarks around to compare a wide range of different products. Quake III is getting very old, but is still one of the best ways of testing video and PC systems for any instabilities and best performance.

We didn't think the day was ever going to come when we were going to hit a wall in Quake 3 but it seems that the 350 FPS mark is about the maximum it is going to go to with our current generation of processor. You can see that when we move to the higher resolution that it just misses out on the 350 FPS mark again.
