Performance Compared - ATI Radeon X800 Pro vs. nVidia GeForce 6800 Ultra - Benchmarks - Far Cry

In Shane's latest article, he compares the performance of a GeCube based ATI Radeon X800 Pro against the reference nVidia GeForce 6800 Ultra. While taking a quick look at both cards, we benchmark with our usual array of benchmarks as well as with AA and AF enabled and with the addition of Far Cry.

Far Cry

Far Cry is our most recent benchmark to be added to our suite and is a first person shooter. There is no denying that Far Cry is currently one of the most graphic intensive games on the market, utilizing PS2.0 and offering an exceptional visual experience there is no denying that even some of the faster graphics cards struggle on it.

At the lower resolution we see that the X800 Pro is quicker then the 6800 Ultra but once we move to 1600 X 1200, the 6800 Ultra has the lead. If you have a look you will notice that the 6800 Ultra score is barley affected with only an FPS moving in the resolution change but when the X800 Pro moves from 1024 X 768 to 1600 X 1200 it looses almost 15 FPS.
