Image Quality Testing - AA and AF

We've seen the performance numbers, now it is time to compare image quality between all three cards under Far Cry.

- XGI Volari V8 Ultra IQ

Without any AA or AF, image quality wasn't the best, but due to the drivers being quite new we can't expect XGI to have everything perfect from day one. We suspect this is a bug XGI is still working on as we didn't experience this type of texture ripping with the games we benchmarked with.

When turning on AA and AF we found that the image quality is quite blurry, as you can see for yourself. We are sure that this is something that we will see improve as time goes on.

- ATI Radeon 9800 XT IQ

There is no doubt that ATI still has the best image quality around.

When moving to AA the 9800 XT only looks better and still continues to run exceptionally smooth.

- nVidia GeForce FX5950 IQ

The 5950 looks excellent and image quality does come down to personal taste, while some may feel that the nVidia looks better others may feel the ATI looks better.

The 5950 does look excellent when moving to AA and like the 9800XT still has room to move as these cards were only set to 4 X AA and 4 X AF to keep it fair with the XGI card which maxes out at these settings.
