Introduction

Computex 2003 in Taipei, Taiwan gave us our first view of the latest graphics card manufacturer to hit the streets. Around about nine months after Computex we now have our own XGI graphics card to play with in the form of the Volari Duo V8 Ultra, a dual GPU graphics card that is designed to compete in the highly competitive high-end GPU market. XGI, a company formed from SiS, is here to shake up the graphics card market. The Volari Duo V8 Ultra is designed to take on the hottest graphics cards on the market including the Radeon 9800 XT from ATI and the GeForce FX 5950 from nVidia - both very fast cards that need a little more competition.

While we were testing all graphics cards for this article, ATI released their Catalyst 4.3 drivers and nVidia let us know that their new ForceWare drivers the 56.64 were to be officially released on Monday the 15th of March which we’ve tested for you under NDA. Since these drives were released and we had already tested all cards with their previous official drives we decided benchmark again with the new drivers.

Now let’s look into what XGI has on offer and have a little peak at the latest drivers from nVidia and what they offer us.
