SUMMARY: In the first of our looks at the increasingly popular Small Form Factor (SFF) systems, we focus our attention on Intel Pentium 4 based platform systems from Shuttle, Soltek and ABIT.
At one stage, going bigger was better but one day out of no where Shuttle popped up and started something different a new revolution, if you will. At first going smaller was not the most practical route to take for a lot of people as it meant losing a lot of features including multiple hard drives, AGP support and the ability to upgrade with ease.
Those days have passed many moons ago and we can now do just about everything we can with a full desktop in a case that is a 1/4 of the size enter Small Form Factor or SFF for short. More and more people are thinking about joining in on the SFF Revolution and you can either go the route of Intel or choose to go with AMD.
Today we intend to have a look at what is on the market for people interested in joining in on the SFF fun with an Intel based platform. We have the lovely ABIT DigiDice, the well known and latest Shuttle XPC based on an ATI chipset and a Soltek system all here for your viewing pleasure. All systems are slightly different in shape, size and design and we intend to find out what is best for you while taking a close look at each unit.
