HIS 9600XT and 9800 Pro IceQ Reviews - Product & Packaging Continued

With Christmas just around the corner and your favorite computer-type person wanting that little something special, we have taken a look at a pair of video cards from HIS. With rock bottom prices and some innovative features, it is time to see if the myth of "getting what you pay for" needs to be thrown out the window. Come see for yourself!

Product & Packaging Continued

As previously mentioned, bundled with both graphic cards is an impressive lineup of four software CDs: PowerDVD 5, 6-in-1 Game CD, Power Director 2.5 VE and HIS own Excalibur driver installation CD. Power Director & PowerDVD, being the Canadian Labs preferred software DVD-player of choice, simply compliment the entire package at its best.

The beauty of the packaging put aside, one thing did astonish us greatly. The 9800 Pro IceQ, contrary to the 9600XT, does not come wrapped in a static-proof foil bag. For such a high-quality and expensive video card, I cannot even imagine as to why HIS has left such a critical safety component out of their packaging for this product.

On a positive note, the manuals are detailed, and not an ounce of poorly translated English is to be found (read our review on the V.L. System VFD Display and you'll understand what I'm talking about). Additionally, neither of the products is lacking critical physical support when dealing with the actual packaging.
