AMD Athlon 64 Motherboards Head to Head - Albatron vs. EPoX - Benchmarks - PCMark 2002

In the first of our AMD Athlon 64 Motherboard Head to Head articles we put the Albatron K8X800 Pro II up against the EPoX 8HDA3 which are both based on VIA's K8T800 chipset with the VT8237 Southbridge.

PCMark 2002

 

PCMark2002 is a multipurpose benchmark, suited for benchmarking all kinds of PCs, from laptops to workstations, as well as across multiple Windows operating systems. This easy-to-use benchmark makes professional strength benchmarking software available even to novice users. PCMark2002 consists of a series of tests that represent common tasks in home and office programs. PCMark2002 also covers many additional areas outside the scope of other MadOnion.com benchmarks.

 

 

Unlike Sandra we see the Albatron take the win this time in a test concentrating on the CPU.

 

 

Moving over to testing the memory in PCMark we find that EPoX is able to take the win this time.

 

Let's see how we go when we throw a few synthetic games at both motherboards.
