AMD Athlon 64 Chipset Royal Rumble - December 2003 - Benchmarks - 3DMark 2001 SE

AMD has given us mainstream 64-bit processing and now we have a bunch of chipsets to join the joy ride. Today we pit all the newest chipsets from VIA, SIS, nVidia and ALI and find out who our best choice is for our Athlon 64 powered motherboard!

3DMark 2001 SE

 

3DMark2001 SE is a part of the popular 3DMark series. By combining DirectX 8.1 support with completely new graphics (including the GeForce4), it continues to provide benchmark results that empower you to make informed hardware assessments.

 

- 640 X 480

 

 

Moving into synthetic gaming at the lower resolution we see the ALI chipset take a big hit with the SIS chipset coming out on top with VIA hot on its heels.

 

- 1280 X 1024

 

 

Moving to the higher resolution the ALI makes a come back but is still just behind the faster SIS.
