SUMMARY: Half a grand is a lot of money to spend on a graphics card. In this article we examine visual gaming performance of ATI's latest GPU, the Radeon 9800 XT, in Counter-Strike, NHL 2004, Max Payne 2, Midnight Club II and Halo PC to work out if it is really worth spending all those dollars.
As previously stated, the received 9800 XT is an OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) version. This less-expensive version does not enclose all the retail-included parts and accessories that you might find in an elegant box at your local computer store. Rather, it is bluntly shipped in what is virtually bubble-wrapping and a foil bag. Nevertheless, the package will include critical components; surprisingly, Allstarshop’s OEM version of this product does include the coupon for Valve’s Half-Life 2.
