AMD

We visited AMD in their suite on the 24th floor of the Grand Hyatt today where the main focus was obviously Athlon 64.

Half of the suite was dedicated to AMD’s line of partner notebooks, with 3 or 4 being Athlon 64 ready.

Some of AMD’s partners already have small form factor Athlon 64 systems available, including ones from Shuttle, MSI and Iwill.

To demonstrate the processing power of the Athlon 64 with the help of nVidia, AMD had two Athlon 64 FX systems running a demo (which was running in real time) to showcase what 64-bit is capable of.

The demo was pretty amazing, the most complex demo produced by nVidia to date.

To give you all a better idea of the type of graphics quality I am talking about, I recorded a short video and uploaded to our servers.
