Test Systems

For this review, we have put together a simple 2.0GHz Desktop system to compare the Excel G550 against. Also, we have pulled the I-Buddie 4 out of mothballs to see how much grunt this new baby has compared to our all time favorite.

SiSoft Sandra 2003 SP1

SiSoft Sandra (the System ANalyser, Diagnostic and Reporting Assistant) 2003 is a synthetic windows benchmark that features different tests used to evaluate different PC subsystems.

CPU wise, optimization is equal across the board. Memory wise, the new M651 has more grunt than the original 650. Though both are fundamentally the same, the improvements over time in the memory controller have shown up here.
