It wasn’t all that long ago when you could just go through a local retailer and toss about any available power supply into your system. But with the way that processors and vital components have evolved, this simply isn’t an option anymore. You just have to have a solid performing PSU or you’re asking for instabilities in your rig.
So what better way to find out what works well than having a little roundup. We’ll be looking at five power supplies from Raidmax, SilenX, Thermaltake and Vantec. The units range from 400 watts to 500 watts and should give us a good look into the abilities of a range of models that are currently available through retail channels.
