ASUS Sabertooth - The Board Continued
Moving up north, we can see a bunch of fan headers here with three on the right hand side and one sitting next to our main 24-Pin ATX power connector which also sees our "MemOK" button next to it.
Also around here we can see a USB 3.0 header on the far left and a look at four of the eight DDR3 DIMM slots that are present on the board.
Moving around to the top half of the board, we can see a single 8-Pin CPU connector up towards the back of the board. We've seen on the X79 series of boards the 8-Pin connectors have been moved more to the middle of the board since the CPU socket has actually shifted due to the way the RAM layout is now.
Moving out a bit further, we get a better idea of the RAM slots that are present on the board and the CPU socket in the middle. We've got a heatsink across the top and the quality of it is fantastic. You can also get a better idea of the color in the image where we looked at the 8-Pin CPU connector that sits behind it.
Finally, we finish up with the I/O side of things and we've got this massive shroud that surrounds all our ports along with a peek at another part of the heatsink that helps keep the board nice and cool.
As for the connections, we've got our USB 3.0 ports running off the ASMedia controller and PS/2 connector on the far left. Next to that we've got two USB 2.0 ports, Firewire via the VIA controller and an eSATA port via the ASMedia controller.
Next to that we've got an optical out, another eSATA port, Reset / FlashBack BIOS button, associated white USB 2.0 port, three more USB 2.0 ports, two USB 3.0 ports, Gigabit networking via Intel and six auxiliary ports via the Realtek ALC892 codec which also controls the optical port.
