Under the Performance Preset we can see a huge difference between the two setups. The i7 2600k comes out well ahead. It's no doubt due to a combination of the higher clock speeds and the CPU just being more efficient at each MHz here. You can see that the Extreme preset closes the gap by a huge margin and there's little difference. The 2600k still manages to sneak out ahead, though.
