It was only the other day that I had a good look into some of the case modding gear that Sunbeam has released in to the market over the past couple of months. Their Rheobus in particular caught my eye and it was decided that TweakTown should do a more in-depth study of the Rheobus’ on the market. I have here in my hot little (anti-static) hands some of the modding industries finest cooling controllers. They will give you an easily accessed, global center for controlling all of the fans in your tower.
With so many Rheobus’ on the market it is becoming difficult to decide which one to purchase. It’s getting to the point that you need to choose one not only because it looks good, but it also has all the functionality of the not so fancy looking ones. The Rheobus is one of those few devices that case modders use that not only look good, but also has a purpose to being there. When you think about it, all the lights, windows and colored fans that modders buy are just bought in an attempt to make their systems more impressive on the eye and, while in a sense this is a purpose, it’s not really a useful one. As far as the Rheobus goes, it is there to let you adjust the speed or brightness of those devices in your case which results into a quieter system and something that isn’t so blinding when it comes to going to bed each night (or morning for some people). These are questions we intend to look further into today. By the end of this round up you should be able to say “Yes I want to purchase that Rheobus”.
A Rheobus round up is something I haven’t seen on the Internet before so it’s hopefully something you TweakTowners will enjoy. We are looking at some of the best Rheobus’ on the market today and, without further ado, here they are :
As you can see we have a bit of variety, ranging from the Sunbeam one we looked at the other week to PC Case Gears very own 3.5” unit. The Rheobus’ we are looking at today range from around AU$35 to AU$110, so there are some for the modder on a budget and others who are willing to spend a bit of extra cash. One thing I will look at in particular is whether the old saying "You get what you pay for" holds true in the Rheobus market.
