Sapphire Radeon HD 6990 4GB Video Card in AUSUM Mode - Sound Test

We flick Sapphire's HD 6990 4GB over to AUSUM mode, close our eyes and power on the system. We've survived to tell you about the extra grunt on offer!

Sound Tests

Pulling out the TES 1350A Sound Level Meter we find ourselves quickly yelling into the top of it to see how loud we can be.

After five minutes of that we get a bit more serious and place the device two CM away from the fan on the card to find the maximum noise level of the card when idle (2D mode) and in load (3D mode).

At least we're not dealing with both extra heat and extra noise. You can see above that noise levels between the two setups are almost identical.
