Our test with Adobe Premiere Elements 2.0 is performed with a raw two hour AVI file. It is then compressed into DivX format using the latest version codec. We measure the time it takes to encode and then record CPU usage.

Adobe Premiere Elements likes the extra memory added to the system and reduces overall encode times. When the buffer gets full with 2GB the HDD is trashed to the limits, with 2GB extra, it takes longer to fill the buffer up.
